Ceramic Buttons and Brooches workshop

Make up to 8 ceramic buttons and brooches

Bring your own design ideas or be inspired on the day

Suitable for beginner and more experienced potters

Wear old clothes and/or an apron and bring a hand towel

Email or ring to book your place on a workshop
Sarah will show you how to make a variety of different shapes of buttons and brooches using a series of cutters and templates. You can decorate your creations with different textures and paint them with underglazes on the day. Your buttons/brooches will then be glazed with a transparent glaze and fired for you ready to collect a few weeks later or they can be posted to you for an additional charge.
Decorative ceramic tiles

Design and make up to two decorative ceramic tiles

Bring your own design ideas or be inspired on the day

Suitable for beginner and more experienced potters

Wear old clothes and/or an apron and bring a hand towel

Sarah will show you how to roll out a slab of clay, cut out your tiles and decorate them with different textures and paint them with underglazes. Your tiles will then be glazed with a transparent glaze and fired. They can then be collected a few weeks later or they can be posted to you for an additional charge .
The tiles can be used as teapot stands, coasters, wall hangings, house number, children’s bedroom door name tile…… and lots more.

You can decorate your creations with different textures and paint them with underglazes on the day. Your Christmas decorations will then be glazed with a transparent glaze and fired for you ready to collect a few weeks later.

Suitable for beginner and experienced potters, join Nottingham based studio potter Sarah Burton in a relaxed and creative atmosphere to make your own design of decorative plate

Sarah will show you how to roll out a slab of clay and make a decorative plate. You will have the opportunity to apply a paper resist technique of decoration. Your plate will then be glazed with a celadon glaze and fired and be ready for you collect a few weeks later.

You will have the opportunity to decorate your tea light with different textures, pierce the clay with holes and paint it with underglazes. Your tealight will then be glazed with a transparent glaze and fired and be ready for you collect a few weeks later.
